BASIC
FIRST AID FOR ANIMALS COURSE
The
crew at Polytechnic West (formerly Bentley TAFE) have asked if we
could put the word out pretty quick smart to our wonderful GAP
owners and foster carers to see if anyone is interested in going
along to complete the unit "Provide Basic First Aid for Animals"
within the Certificate III in Companion Animal Services.
They currently have about 15 spots available within their
part time course to do this unit.
It's on Tuesday afternoons
from 2:00pm to 4:30pm, starting on Tuesday February 1st (THIS
TUESDAY!!!) and goes for 10 weeks (finishing April 5)
It
costs $86.23 for the average person, or if you have a
pensioner/concession card, it only costs $54.23!!
If anyone
is interested, they can contact Venetta Atkinson on 9267
7110 and she will enrol you over the phone, or you can simply
head along for the first class and enrol then (just call first to
make sure they know to expect you!!!)
Any of the GAP owners
or foster carers who complete the course will have a special
certificate made for them as they understand that you will be doing
this one Unit without necessarily intending to complete the whole
course.

VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED
Perth
Cup
Saturday 5th February sees the running of
the SKY Racing Perth Cup and as in previous years, GAP wish to have
some of our lovely hounds on display at each set of gates to meet
and greet the public.
Perth Cup is a race meeting that often
attracts some new faces to the track and the "meet and greet" stuff
is a good thing to do with the big crowds - it gets us a presence at
the track on a big night and shows that we are trying to improve the
post racing welfare opportunities for our greyhounds.
We
would be requesting people and their dogs at the gates between 5.30
and 6.45pm you'd like to come along please email GAP and we will give you
some more details.
