Named after the Japanese god of fortune and good luck, this handsome lad brings plenty of good vibes with him. Daikoku is a playful, friendly, social boy who seems determined to collect as much joy as possible. His foster family describe him as “very polite and eager to please.” Daikoku has practiced living alongside his friendly Labrador foster sibling, but he could join doggie siblings of any size, from tiny Japanese Chins to mighty Akitas. Daikoku has been assessed as unable to go to a home with cats. Because Daikoku can get carried away when playing, he’d preferably join a home where all humans are nine years or older. He’s incredibly friendly and means well but sometimes his excitement arrives faster than his brakes. Daikoku has been developing his pet skills in his foster home where he has managed up to seven hours inside, waiting for his people to arriving before toileting outside. Exercise is classic greyhound, one or two 20‑minute walks a day where he soaks up every interesting sight and smell like a tourist wandering through Kyoto during cherry blossom season. What brings Daikoku joy? “He loves tuna and sardines, he still loves toys, but I think his absolute favourite thing to do is go for a walk. He also likes to play with soccer balls!” say his foster family.
Daikoku is simply enthusiastic about everything. People? Amazing. Walks? Fantastic. Life in general? The best thing ever.

Daikoku has been learning all about how to be the perfect companion in his forever home. Spending time with his foster carers, their parents, and the grandkids, Daikoku wins everyone over with his polite and eager-to-please attitude.
The friendly family Labrador, Buddy has been a fabulous play buddy and companion for Daikoku, teaching him all about pet life. Daikoku has been picking up loose leash walking well and enjoys daily 30-minute walks around the park. When at home Daikoku loves playing with his toys and showing off his zoomies and soccer skills.
“He makes cute little noises when getting behind the ear scratches.” His foster carers say, along with “his floppy tongue when getting scratches is very cute.”
Daikoku has managed up to seven hours inside solo with no toileting accidents. He settles well and enjoys his snoozes.
To set Daikoku up for success, their forever and foster homes would be similar environments, and include;

✅ Daily strolls at the park or around the block
✅ All humans in the home nine years old or older
