Dinkum is a confident and happy-go-lucky young pup who absolutely loves life and everyone in it. Whether it’s humans, dogs, or new places, she greets everything with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. She’s never met a stranger and everyone is instantly her best friend! She is still learning about boundaries and manners but really tries her best to be the goodest girl. She’s very responsive to praise and positive guidance and loves making her humans proud.

We’re looking for a home that understands the needs of a young pup. Dinkum would benefit from:

  • Humans aged 14+ who can support her learning journey with patience and consistency.
  • A playful, well-mannered adult dog to help show her the ropes. She’s not suited to homes with small or elderly dogs who may find her enthusiasm overwhelming.
  • A home where she won’t be alone for more than six hours. Dinkum could possibly handle longer hours with canine company. She’s made great progress but will need time to settle and adjust to her new routine before spending extended time alone.
  • A commitment to ongoing training to help her continue learning boundaries and manners in a positive and supportive environment.

Dinkum is full of love, fun and potential. With the right guidance, she’ll grow into a loyal, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining companion.

Dinkum foster update | Happy-go-lucky pup looking for a home

Dinkum is a confident, happy-go-lucky pup who’s beginning to understand aspects of pet life. She loves to show her foster human and the GAPWA team just how eager she is to learn and please.

During her foster time she took toilet training and leash walking in her stride and stayed home with her greyhound foster brother for up to four hours. Dinkum got along fabulously with him and has enjoyed many play dates with dogs of all breeds and sizes. While she can be a bit full-on (as expected with a young hound) she is a social and friendly hound that loves making friends.
She loves meeting new people, no one is a stranger, and has met children without being fazed by their boisterousness. Her foster home also had chickens which with a bit of training, she coexisted very well with.

Dinkum is still learning household boundaries and manners but she’s responsive to gentle guidance and wants to be the bestest girl. She thrives with toys and enrichment she can chew so her future home will need to provide safe and positive outlets for this.

Full of confidence and enthusiasm Dinkum loves going on adventures to new places. With continued puppy training and support she is sure to grow into a wonderful companion.
