Dubbo is the kind of aussie hound who looks right at home playing some backyard cricket or snoozing in a camping chair on a sunny arvo. Social, outgoing, confident and playful, Dubbo brings big bash league energy wherever he goes. Dubbo could live alongside a medium or large doggie sibling that complimented his playful nature. Dubbo has been assessed as unable to go to a home with cats. He’d be best suited to a home with kids nine years old or older as he can be enthusiastic during play and greetings. Dubbo is comfortable staying home alone for up to six hours at a time, happy to snooze it out until his people get back. One or two 20-minute walks a day plus some play sessions will keep his tail wagging like a djiti djiti. Speaking of play time, Dubbo absolutely loves toys and will often bounce around with them like a happy kangaroo.

If you’re after a happy-go-lucky mate with loads of good-on-ya personality and charm, Dubbo might just be your bloke.

Dubbo Foster Update | Aussie hound looking for his bungalow

Dubbo has been doing wonderfully in foster care and has settled beautifully into family life as an only dog. He’s currently living with two boys (12 and nine years old) and has been a gentle and affectionate addition that genuinely enjoys being part of the daily household buzz.

Dubbo has already aced many aspects of pet life. He’s working hard on his toilet training and improving steadily. Dubbo has stayed home alone for up to eight hours with no destructive behaviour and no barking. He also quickly learnt the household’s bedtime routine. His foster humans have told us he prefers to sleep outside in a covered outdoor area on his bed.

Dubbo loves heading out for walks and gets adorably excited when he knows it’s time to go. His foster humans have let us know he’s a little lazy and isn’t one for long distances as when he’s done he’ll simply lie down to let you know. Two 20‑minute walks are perfect for him.

Dubbo is quick learner and he already knows several markers including yes, no, and drop!

His foster family has had plenty of kids (all nine years old or older) visiting and Dubbo has been amazing with them. He’s gentle, playful and delightfully good at fetch! He adores pats from adults just as much and is happiest when he can follow his humans around the house with his nose tucked close to their hip.

All in all his foster family has described Dubbo as a beautiful and affectionate boy. They say he’d be a great match for a home looking for a loyal friend who doesn’t require long walks and would appreciate his gentle, cuddly nature.

To set Dubbo up for success, his forever and foster homes would be similar environments, and include;

✅ Only hound or medium/large sized doggie mates

✅ Short easy walks

✅ All house members nine years or older
