Melman is ready to leave the zoo behind and embark on his very own Madagascar adventure. Equal parts playful, affectionate, social and just a little cheeky, this lovable long-legged character has all the charm of his famous namesake (minus the constant worrying). Melman could join doggie siblings of any size, from tiny lemurs all the way up to Gloria-sized hippos. He could also potentially live with a cat following the right introductions and purrfect match. When it comes to children Melman would prefer kids aged nine years and older as he can occasionally forget that smaller tots need a gentler touch during playtime. One or two 20-minute walks each day are all this adventurer needs. No trip to Central Park is required, your local neighbourhood is perfectly suitable. With a canine companion, Melman could happily spend longer stretches without his people. If he’s a solo hound, six hours is a comfortable amount of alone time while his new routine settles into place.
King Julien may think he’s the star of the show, but Melman is ready to prove otherwise. Could Melman be the right hound for you?
Please note applicants who have cats will be given preference to adopt Melman.
