Sirius is an absolute star of a hound, playful, friendly and social, with enough cosmic energy to light up the night sky. Named after the brightest star in the galaxy, he shines wherever he goes. Sirius could join doggie siblings of any size, from Crux‑sized companions to Hydra‑level giants. Sirius has been assessed as unable to go to a home with cats. Because his boisterous play can reach supernova levels at times, he’d do best in a home where all humans are nine years or older. Family members who can join in on his solar flare moments of energy. He can stay home alone for up to three hours and with canine company and routine he may be able to extend that time. One or two 20‑minute walks a day are perfect for him and Sirius walks beautifully on leash. He cruises along like a spacecraft on a smooth mission, soaking up all the sunrays and greeting Earthlings with joy.

Playful, radiant and bursting with starlight charm, Sirius is ready to launch into his forever home and become the brightest star in someone’s universe.

Sirius Foster Update | Little star looking for his constellation

Sirius has been making a lovely start to foster life and is showing himself to be a bright, engaging boy who is well on his way to acing many aspects of pet life.

He’s doing well as a solo dog and has comfortably been staying home alone for up to three hours, relaxing nicely into his routine after a settling in period. He’s successfully toilet trained and continues to build great habits around the home.

Out and about, Sirius is always ready for an adventure. He walks nicely on leash with polite enthusiasm to head out and explore the world. While exploring with his foster humans he has met dogs of all shapes and sizes and has proven himself to be a social boy, greeting them with friendly confidence.

Sirius is just as charming with people too , his foster human saying “You can tell he loves people and has charmed every person he’s met so far.”

At home, his playful side really shines. His foster humans have discovered that he absolutely loves soft toys, often choosing to play with them over kongs or chew toys. They describe, “Sirius is playful, energetic and curious about everything”, always keen to learn and take part in whatever is going on around him.

He’s been taking everything in his stride and, with treats and encouragement, is proving to be a fast learner who picks things up quickly.

Sirius is shaping into a well-rounded, friendly and adaptable hound, and his foster humans are confident he will settle beautifully into any home lucky enough to have him.

To set Sirius up for success, his forever and foster homes would be similar environments, and include;

✅ Solo hound or doggie ‘siblings’ of any size

✅Lots of soft toys!

✅All humans nine years old or older
