Tazz is currently at TAFE, lending a helping paw to students learning about dog behavior, training, and medical care. He’ll be back and ready for his forever home in July. While he might not return with a degree, he will certainly have earnt a certificate as an absolutely good boy!

Tazz is a bouncy playful hound full of beans and a lot of love to give! Tazz has a zest for life that is contagious, and he finds everything in life exciting and wonderful. Tazz would be delighted to join a large canine ‘sibling’ who can match his play style and teach him the ways of pet life. Tazz has been assessed as unable to go to a home with cats. Although Tazz loves people, he would do best in a home where all humans are 14 years old or older. He can sometimes forget his spatial awareness when excited, and his big zoomies could be too much for smaller kids. Tazz prefers having company but could stay home alone for up to three hours. This time is likely to improve with routine, enrichment, or a canine buddy to keep him company. Tazz is always up for a play and would love to zoom around the yard with you. After a few zooms he is content with a daily 20-minute walk around the neighbourhood to happily say hello to all your neighbours with BIG tail wags and wiggles.

If you’re looking for a fun and energetic hound who is sure to bring excitement to your home, then apply for Tazz today!

Tazz Foster Update | Tazz is looking for his perfect home!
Tazz had a wonderful time in foster with his foster humans and foster ‘brother’ Jumanji. He has been getting the hang of pet life and understanding the routines of the home. Tazz has comfortably stayed home with no humans alongside Jumanji for up to six hours at a time and has taken toilet training in his stride.

Tazz loves his walks, and his foster human have let us know he has the habit of “prancing like a pony” when excited on leash!

Tazz has found a delightful best buddy in Jumanji. They are constantly playing and bustling through the house together playing “bitey face” and chasey. Tazz thrives on the energy of a playful canine companion and would love to join a home with another fun-loving hound who can match his spirit.
Toys are another big love of Tazz’s, and he is working on his fetch game. Tazz LOVES to run after a thrown ball or toy…but has not yet got the hang of bringing them back all the time, much preferring to run around showing off his prize.

In his foster home, Tazz shared the backyard with a small flock of chooks. While generally respected their space they did have to give him the occasional peck on the nose when his play got too close!
Tazz is cheeky, full of life, and incredibly endearing. He has so much love to give and would thrive with an active family who can embrace his goofy, spirited personality and give him the full life he deserves.

To set Tazz up for success, his forever and foster homes would be similar environments, and may include;
✅ Large playful dog companion(s)
✅ A social and active household
✅ Family members 14 years or older
