Yowie is a big and friendly fella that is the happiest “cryptid” you’ll ever meet. Yowie is an independent boy in that classic Aussie-bush way: content doing his own thing while you’re out living life or just as happy to be tagging along by your side.

Yowie’s foster carers attest to his easy-going, obliging nature. “Yowie is a happy-go-lucky guy that is ready to snooze the day away or join us on walks and adventures. He has such a cruisy attitude and is so easy to have around.” Yowie could share his home with medium or large size dogs and has spent time in a home living alongside two fellow ‘hounds. Yowie has been assessed as unable to go to a home with cats.  Yowie is an easygoing bloke when it comes to alone time and could stay home alone for up to six hours if he has some enrichment and toys to keep him occupied. In his foster home Yowie has practiced spending up to 10 hours without people, alongside other dogs. The foster carers report he is quite happy to keep himself occupied as long as he somewhere comfy to dream his day away. Yowie is a sweet boy who enjoys scritches and cuddles but would prefer his people are nine years or older. One of Yowie’s favourite things to do is stand in his shell pool while he has a drink! Yowie also enjoys a cool down under the hose.

Yowie LOVES meeting new people and believes strangers are friends he hasn’t met. Yowie’s foster carers have even started teaching this smart boy tricks, he picked up “touch” on the first day. He doesn’t need treks through the bush, just one or two 20 minute walks will keep his tail wagging.

If you’ve ever wished you could bring home a friendly and mythical hound with a heart as big as the outback, Yowie might just be the legend you’ve been waiting for.
