When Abbey decided to adopt a greyhound, she never imagined just how quickly one “beautiful, awkward boy” would become the centre of her world.
“I adopted Flynn seven months ago,” Abbey said, “he has been a dream since the day he got home. It did not take Flynn long to settle in at all.”
These days Flynn has perfected a daily routine that many of us could only dream of.’=
“Flynn’s daily routine consists of a 20-minute walk in the morning, a seven-hour long nap on the couch, an afternoon adventure of some sort, dinner and then a snuggle on the couch before heading back to bed for the night.”
When he’s not catching up on his beauty sleep, Flynn enjoys making the most of his outings.
“He loves long sniffy strolls by the river, playing with his friends at the tennis club or walking by the coast.”
At home he keeps himself entertained in true greyhound fashion.
“He loves playing with his toys and flipping his bed around in his spare time.”
For Abbey, one of the most surprising parts of the adoption journey has been how naturally Flynn adapted to his new life.
“Flynn adapted to this life so seamlessly and is adored by anyone who meets him.”
Seven months on, it’s impossible for Abbey to imagine life without him.
“Adopting Flynn has made my life so much better. He is the light of my life and I can’t imagine life without the little guy.”
The bond they’ve built in such a short time has been something she never expected.
“It has surprised me how much we have bonded in such a short amount of time.”
For anyone considering welcoming a greyhound into their family, Abbey’s advice is simple.
“To anyone thinking of adopting a greyhound, do it — you will not regret it.”
