Fondz (or Fondzie as his mum calls him) tells us that life since adoption has been pretty wonderful.
Adopted in November 2025, he now spends his days living in Pearsall with his mum and self-described “cuddle partner” named Kirsty.
While nothing really phased him when they first met, Fondz says “it took a while to show her my bubbly self, learn what a couch and a human bed is and be my happy daft self”.
These days he “live(s) like a king … all day asleep and live with no rules whatsoever!”
Fondz enjoys daily walks packed with sniffing opportunities and likes to greet every dog and person he meets, provided they’re happy to say hello.
At home he’s discovered a shredding passion of cardboard and paper bags and he proudly admits “my favourite treat is a pigs ear but mum takes far too long to go to work so I can eat it in peace. I do little cute dances when I see my pigs ears coming or going out for a walk.”
Living with a fear-free dog trainer and vet nurse means Fondz is very well looked after “my teeth are white, and my feet are well looked after to prevent uncomfortable toes I even have my own shoes!”
More than anything, Fondz says he and Kirsty have become the “the best of buds”. He has helped “heal my mums broken heart from losing her first doggy at 14”.
Together they’ve built a wonderful life full of cuddles, companionship and plenty of naps.
By his own admission, he’s a “laid back and contented chill dude” who is very sweet to everyone and it certainly sounds like retirement life is treating him very well.
